If there are time travelers, why haven't I seen any lately? (cont.)
The popular media, i.e. movies and television, as opposed the geeky mediums, such as books and scientific journals, have attempted to answer this question by suggesting that the time traveler is the anomalous figure in history. In other words, Buddha, Confucius, Jesus, and Tiffany were not visionaries, per say, because they already knew what was going to happen next. Such explanations clearly dismiss any possibility for divinity or genius.

Another popular theory suggests that just by going back in time, you create alternative time lines, and so a set of people could exist without any dealings with time travelers while in the alternate or parallel or branch timeline (see Lesson 9), that same person sees dozens of time travelers, who in turn create new variations on history.

The problem is that most people only believe in linear time.

Why is that a problem?
