Winter Poem--Can only be eaten metaphorically

elder
butler
heavy cream
champagne
camisole

Spice Pack:
1 dollop of worry
1/4 tablespoon of grumpiness

On my counterpane, stretched and cozy and sipping champagne,
listening to snow fall softly outside, imagining the snowflakes' lacy
patterns, like a camisole--
Only a dollop of worry to consider, like a heavy cream on an elderberry torte:
once dealt with, the worry tastes as sweet as the solution.
The butler's tray, silver and heavy, clangs grumpily on the bed,
as I place my tablespoons and empty plates in its grasp,
and nod off to a land of spice and nog.
