Camellia bushes hug three sides of the Shady Oaks rest home as if to hold it up. When Barry walked up, he saw a sign "No Petting," and couldn't figure out if the black and white image on the triangular sign was of a dog, an old hunched man, or two teens making out in the back of a car. After climbing the sloped driveway, Barry found an elderly couple, a man with loose spirals of white hair trailing off the back of his head. Beside him sat a woman, whose fleshy eyelids appeared almost shut and whose legs were wound round by a grey plaid blanket.
